They're really soft on the inside, so she can wear them without socks. They're cool and breathable but still have a closed toe. There's great traction on the bottom so she can run around wherever she wants and not fall down. My 12 month old daughter loves them, she actually WANTS me to put them on her. At first when she walked around she would stop every few steps to admire them. She's only been walking a few weeks, these are the first hard soled shoes I've put her in other then a few times in dress shoes. She has no problem walking in them, they protect her feet while allowing them to breath. Teva's are just about the most comfortable thing I've ever put my feet in, which is why I chose them for my little one. I have a feeling I will be buying these again for many summers to come.
