We like the sandal. It's great for the beach. If your child is at 5 1/2, go with the 4-5 size... the 6 was huge! they get pretty dirty and need to be washed frequently as the ridges in the sole make my sons feet very dirty.

My baby (16 months old) has a "chubby" feet and for that it is almost impossible to find him any kind of shoes. This sandals are just the best deal for him! They are solid, safe and seems to be very comfortable for his wide chubby little precious feet.

I keep buying these shoes, just in bigger sizes. She'll be 2 in 3 weeks, and as soon as we received them, she wanted to put them on. They must be very comfortable, as my daughter wore these all of last summer. Her daycare has a water room, and she wears them in there. She loves them!! The typical water shoes must hurt her feet, rub on the top, or just don't feel good. She never complains about these. I keep a pair for her to wear all summer, and another pair for daycare to use. The sizing is also great, as you can adjust the velcro as their feet grow. The beauty is you can wear these as everyday shoes, as well as to the pool and beach. I highly recommend and will continue to purchase.

Well Done Teva! I bought each kid a pair of these shoes last summer and they LOVED them. There isn't a "new shoe" break in period. They can play on the beach, play soccer or take a long walk. They are truly good for everything. In fact, they are still in such good shape that I can pass them on to the cousins and they will have a good summer shoe season! :) I am buying 2 more pairs today for this summer. Great Shoes!

I purchased this sandal last year for my then 3-year old son. I had bought him a similar pair of Keen sandals, but those hurt his feet because they were too narrow for him. These Tevas fit him great, and he loved them from the minute he put them on. They offer great toe protection, which I wanted for my active little guy. They hold up well to getting wet at the beach, and dry fairly quickly. We are back for a new pair (bigger size) this year.

Product Description

The fully drainable Columbia Sportswear Kids' Watu 3 Sandal lets little kids catch the fish and release the stream. We figured kids (not to mention their parents) could do without the Soggy Shoe Syndrome, so we created a hybrid shoe that combines the lightweight comfort of a running shoe with the quick-dry capabilities of a water shoe. The upper features breathable open cell mesh with a durable synthetic leather toe cap for added protection. An EVA footbed and Techlite™: midsole combine to provide lightweight cushioning. Wet/dry traction is assured by a siped, lugged outsole with Omni-Grip Wet Grip rubber for sure footing on the trail or the blacktop.

    3.0 out of 5 stars Runs big, but an ok shoe, March 25, 2012
    We were looking for an alternative to the $50 keens... and probably should have stuck with keens. Got these for $18 on a different site, w/free shipping (order size qualified), and that's about as much as they're worth. We've only had them for a week, so I'm not sure on durability, but because the solid part stitches right to the meshy part (which is one piece for the shoe top), my feeling is that there will be fraying and rips by the end of the summer.
    cons:
    The sole is surprisingly stiff and it's noticeably larger than the other 11s he's wearing right now. Also, the tongue, because it is held to the sides with little elastic strips (think lace-less converse), doesn't really adjust when the strap is tightened. It bunches up.
    pros:
    dries quicker than the keens would have (wet around 10am from puddle splashing, nearly dry around 3 when left in a heap by the door) and probably keep his feet cooler with all that mesh. Also, the velcro stops at a respectable point... Read more

    I purchased these shoes for my kid. I was shocked when I opened the box.

    Poor constuction, sorry - very poor:

    Uneven all over, back strap for some reason in the middle of the shoe and is not adjustable, flimsy straps.
    Rubber is crude. It is not made for the delicate toddler feet. Horrible.
    I am surprised this shoe is even marketed.

    Thank you Amazon for excellent return service. I paid only for return shipping.
    I will stay away from this company product if they try to sell you this garbage.
